My Anime and Manga Moments!

Hi! ^^ I was bored yesterday and decided to go to my local (20 minutes-on-a-bus away) second hand dvd, cd and all round media store and look to see if they had any interesting but cheap anime. And guess what? I found vol. 1 of Gilgamesh for £4. So, I met my boyfriend, Nik at train station, we went home, I gave him his surprise (raspberry's, he loves them) and then we put it on. Oh, my gosh is it weird. Interesting but still very weird. I understand it but at the same time, it still kinds confusing.

I don't really know if it's all that popular but for anyone who doesn't know what it's about, it set in a futuristic world where the sky has been turned into a "psychedelia mirror". The story follows two runaway, Kyoko and her little brother (whose name I don't remember off the top of my head) who owe some men a lot of money. They meet these guys who are latter revealed to be called Gilgamesh (hence the title) which is the name of an army of mutants (?) under the control of a scientist (whom we haven't met yet.) Anyway, another group of mutants attack the Gilgamesh and take the siblings to see their master, The Countess. They all live in a hotel together and eventually, Kyoko's little brother starts to show mutant powers and it sort of follows his development. Phew! I don;t know if that all makes sense, but if you haven't seen it, I would recommend it. Just give it a try. The animation isn't brilliant, I'll admit (not compared to FMA and the like) but I do believe Gilgamesh is quite an old anime. Not sure though ^^;

Anyway, that's all I have to to report so far but hopefully more anime soon ^^

I haven't watched any new anime recently but I was watching series 3-6 of Naruto again and it really gets me annoyed when I watch Sasuke's change; he's so stupid! And to watch again makes me want to slap him across the face. *Sigh* So yea, I was watching it all again and it was good to watch Choji's and Neji's fights again. I love both of them and their fights are awesome! If just a little sad at the end.

I'm really just waiting for the next instalment of the Shippuden anime as well as the next manga volume which is suppose to be out sometime this month (feb) so hopefully I'll be able to know what happens next sooooooon! ^^

Anyway, I don't really have much else to say, except thanks for reading! And also a special thanks to my first follower, Austin! Cookies to youuuuuuuu!!! \O/

Just a quick one...

Hello, just a quick post this time.

I've been thinking about the next MCM London Expo in May and I've decided that it would be really awesome if me and whoever is going to come with me all cosplay from the same anime; it would be really cool even if for only one day.

I would like to cosplay as Gaara from Naruto again but me and my sister want to cosplay as the Hitachiin twins from Ouran High School Host Club but in their Cheshire Cat costumes from the Alice (Haruhi) in Wonderland episode. She's already got the striped tops we only really need the leggings, paws, ears, tails and boots oh and another red wig then we're done ^^ But then it won't be only us so whoever comes with would have to cosplay as the other members of the host club to make it all fit. Otherwise, we would have to do the group cosplay with a different anime... *sigh* all this planning is so hard sometime... v.v

... Hmmm, this isn't really that short but I feel better now ^^

Happy New Year!

Yay! First post of the year! And the first anime of the year? Ouran High School Host Club... again. My boyfriend has never watched it and even though he was quite sceptical about it, he really likes it now so that's why we're watching it... at half past midnight... ^^;

Anyway, I'm sure I've previously mentioned OHSHC before but to those who don't have a clue, it's about a group of six guys who are a host club at Ouran Academy who practically force Haruhi, an honour student, to join them after she (mistaken as a he at the time) broke a very expensive vase. The anime is quite cute and in all intents and purposes a parody of Shojo anime. There's even an Alice in Wonderland episode! ^^

Anyway, that's not all I have to say this time, I've stared on FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Its actually really good and it is really close to the manga which is also very awesome. If you haven't seen the original FMA anime or read the manga, WHY?! It's THE BEST anime ever! Ahem... sorry, I like it a lot ^^; But seriously, this is one of those anime you have got to see, just like Evangelion (which I haven't watched the series of but I hope to very soon.) Anyway, I hope that those of you who haven't yet seen FMA will consider giving it a look.

Has anyone ever heard of...

Has anyone ever heard of Azamanga Daioh? It's really cute. It follows six high school girls through their three years of Japanese high school. It doesn't really follow any real plot and there is next to no tension and the little that is there is for humour. But even though it doesn't have a real plot, it's still really good somehow. My boyfriend introduced me to it about a month ago and we've nearly finished all six discs. I must admit, it does still have your stereotypical characters like the big mouth, the kid (who this case is a ten year old genius) as well as the stoic (who isn't that bad, she's just really quiet and loves cats even if they bite her all the time lol) If you like Fruits Basket, you're bound to like this ^^

Anyway, that's my little report on this (not so) new found anime ^^ So happy watching people!

D.Gray Man

Hi All!

Guess what! D.Gray Man vol. 3 is now out! I've ordered mine from amazon for around £13 but if you go on find-dvd.com and search there you might find it cheeper. I haven't looked one there myself yet for D.Gray Man but it'll work for pretty much any dvd.

I was going to be going to Oct '10 London MCM Expo but I am unable to make it as I have a wedding to attend on the saturday and I don't think going up for one day is really worth it not if it's 4-6 hours of travel in total (there and back) for maybe 4 hours of browsing the remainder of the sellers hall. But hopefully next May myself, my sister, my best friend and boyfriend (and possibly a few more) will be going again ^^ Not sure who to cosplay as but it's possible me and my boyfriend may be having different cosplay for each day. We were thinking maybe a FMA cosplay for one day and then maybe a Naruto cosplay for the other and if they keep the three day thing going then we'll probably just cosplay the same thing twice instead of taking three costumes up each.
I must admit, when we went up last May, our luggage looked huge! We must have looked like we were travelling; I had a massive shoulder bag with mine, my sister and my boyfriends costumes in as well a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and other essentials and then my gourd tied (rather unsecurely, I might add) to the top.
My boyfriend had his massive shoulder bag with some of our food in it as well as his essentials. My best friend had her backpack full of her costume and essentials PLUS we had my little wheely-suitcase thing FULL of food and drink as well as a couple of other things.
That's a lot to take for a three night stay. And then we all had to wait at Waterloo for my sister (who was travelling in from the opposite direction) for about an hour before venturing down onto the tube... bearing in mind my sister had not only her expo stuff but also her stuff for her stay at home with us for a week after the expo. *sigh* that's a lot of stuff. And this was all before we had bought anything from the expo... ^^;;
That was even more insane but thankfully my wheely-suitcase thing was practically empty from all the drink and food we had lived off of for those three days so we could put a lot of the heavier stuff in there ^^ However, we all insisted on carrying our plushies ourselves and NOT in our bags so that helped a bit ^^;

Well, I'm done writing this essay of a post and I apologise for anyone's brains exploding from the amount of rambling here (I only meant to post about the D.Gray Man thing lol)

Ok, I think I've lost it even more...

Ok, the other day I was searching for a pair of black jeans that went with a belt that I had added beads to. I thought that maybe they were down to be washed or had just been washed but no, they were neither in my wash basket nor on the line, so I went to the ironing pile, not there either. Then I thought, Ah! Maybe they're in the airing cuboard but no. No black jeans. So I gave up for the day and went on my merry way to do whatever I was doing that day. It wasn't until about two days later that I remembered I had used said jeans for my last cosplay of Gaara *sigh* this also meant that they still had the sand-coloured strips of material attached to them, thus making tham unwearable without the rest of the cosplay. *deep sigh* I swear, my memory is getting worse... *shakes head*

Anyway, just thought I'd share that little moment of a laps in my memory. I do wonder though, is it just me or do other people have "special" moments like this on a regular basis?

... Oops? And Shippuden!

Ok I know I havn't posted in a while BUT! I have great news! Naruto Shippuden has been released in the Uk (as most of you are proabably already aware) both the first and second box sets have been released on dvd already however, the third and fourth are on their way! October is the month in which the thrid is going to be released and December is the month of the forth! Yay! Unfortunatly though, the forth won;t be released in time for Christmas so all those thinking you could get that for Christmas, I'm afraid not. It's not fair but at least it's getting released in this country unlike many other series.

In other news, I've heard of a convention that happened over the weekend just gone (Fri 13th - Sun 15th August) In kent University. I was going to go but unfortunatly I'm broke having just spent a tone on a holiday to the IOW... Ok, I lie, I just spent way too much on prezzies from the holiday on the IOW lol ^^; Anyway, so did anyone get to go? If so, how was it? And did you cosplay?

Anywho, I've got to go and pick up my bf from his newish job ^^ See you all soon (hopefully ^^;)

OhMyGoshExpo!

Can you believe it's only four and a half days until London MCM Expo 2010?! *insert fangirlish squee here* I really can't wait! My Gaara costume is so very very almost complete; my mother was kind enough to make my gourd for me (it's stuffed for convenience... looks a little weird but it'll do ^^) now I'm making the "sticker" (or whatever they are) and once that's done, it'll be finished! Yay! *deep breath... exhail* Only problem is the weather; I mean if it keeps up the temp. it is now, me and the people I'm going with will all roast ^^'

There was going to be about six of seven of us but now we are down to four; you see two pulled out due to lack of funds another we sorta drop kicked out of it because he just didn't seem to be interested that and he refused to reply to any of my messages so now it's me, my sister, my best friend who is like a sister and my boyfriend who is not like a sister ^^ In order, we are going as Gaara, Naruto, Edward Elric and Roy Mustang... Funny how all our characters are all male... but enough about crossplay... are any of you guys going to the London Expo this year?

I REALLY CAN'T WAIT!

I really really really can't wait; there's only one week and 5 days until I go up to london for the MCM London Expo! SQUEE! I'm so happy! Also, my wonderful mother has started making my gourd for my Gaara cosplay, it just needs stuffing and then the seals on it then it's done! My entire cosplay will be complete (minus the scar on his forehead which I'll do on the day ^^)

Hmm, what else...? Oh! I've got Naruto volume 47 of the manga now but unfortunatly Forbidden Planet hasn't got 48 yet! However! I have D.Gray Man series one on dvd now! Yay! I'm already reading the manga but the anime is quite good even if some of (read: most of) the dub voices are slightly off; I'm sorry but Kanda's dub voice (although so very very awesome as Roy Mustang from FMA) really doesn't suit him especially after having heard the original Japanese voice. Also, Allen's voice is good but still would have been better had it been Vic Mignogna (Ed from FMA) instead of Todd I-forgot-your-surname-sorry! (Hikaru from OHSHC) Lenalee's is good and Komui's is funny (being Kyoya from OHSHC and all hehe) but Laci's is still so-so as I'm not all that keen on the voice but over all I like it ^^

On another note, I managed to get my new boyfriend into anime even more than he already was by getting him to watch FMA, D.Gray Man and many a Studio Ghibi film ^^

Well, it's 12 mins past midnight so I'm gonna make a move.

Oopsies... ^^;

Oh the past few weekends have been fun; a week last saturday I went out with some friends for one of their birthdays and was up til 3.30am the next morning despite the fact that I'd been up since 6am saturday morning because of work starting at 7am... Anyway, so this last saturday I was also up til 4am (again, I was up from 5.30am sat morning because of work) because my uni had a "secret discoteque" thing on at the student bar until 2am. Now, usually I don;t go to the student bar because I live in a completely different city to my uni and have to catch iregular trains that stop at about 10pm but this time was different; one if my uni friends has recently passed her driving test and offered to drive me and another friend who also commutes to uni there and then back to hers where we would stay the night. That wasn't really enough to get me to go but THEN she said there'd be pancakes the following morning... so I agreed to come (and, yes, I did get pancakes)

Now, you'd have thought that have only had five hours sleep sat night/sun morning would have been anough to get me to go to bed early sun night, ne? NO! I was bribbed (again) except this time with the promise of watching the rest of Chobits if I came round my (non-uni) friends house so again, I agreed seeing as she only lives five minutes away. So I get there, we put on Chobits and THEN! She starts to curl my hair! It was fine, I didn't mind that much but it was SUCH a PAIN to get out; we brushed it and I looked like Hermione from Harry potter! So I decided to wash it out however, It was gone 1am by this point and so I decided to just go home, put my FUZZY hair in pigtail and forego the shower til morning *sigh* this also meant no lay in as i was due into uni at 11am and so i was up at 6.45 this morning having only had something like four to five hours sleep. *deep breath* So to say i'm tired would be an understatement ^^... and I just reaised that I've written five line sentences again... oh well, it makes sense doesn't it?

*shrug* oh well. So Chobits! Yeah, I'm now hooked. I've only seen upto the beach episode but it's so cute (even if I do know the end... kinda)

Well, I've just been given the "dinner" call so I better leave this here.

*WARNING: SPOILERS MAY BE HIDING AHEAD*

OK, I know it's a bit late but Happy New Year Everyone! OK, I'm now on volume 46 of Naruto manga and oh my gosh! How sad is it now? I can't believe what I've read! I can no longer bring myself to dislike Itachi.

So, anyway, I can't wait for to get my paws on the next volume but seeing as I have been unable to get to my local manga store, I'm just going to settle for a simple fangirly squee.

Oh! Another amazing thing happened to me (manga-wise); I now own the final volume of Fruits Basket! I can't believe what has happened! It's so sad but also so very, very cool. To anyone who has not read Fruits Basket, why not?! It's amazing! Don't judge it by the anime as it's only covers up to vol 6 (I think) and the manga has 23 volumes.

What else has happened? Oh, I think i may have lost my Ouran High School Host Club vol 2 anime! ;.; I can't remember lending it to anyone so I think I may have to go hunting for it... Although, I have vol 1 f the manga but I can't find vol 2 anywhere so I may have to shop online...

But anyway, enough about my manga/anime searching, as I may (or may not, I can't remember) have mentioned before, I am cosplaying as Gaara from Naruto at the MCM London Expo in May '10. Now, I was going to may a paper-mache (sp?) gourd but then I thought "why risk breaking it on our way up there?" So, instead of a paper-mache (sp?) one, I (read: my mum) am going to make a stuffed gourd, sort of like a gourd shaped pillow. It'll be lighter, easier to make and (hopefully) far less likely to break. Not to mention if it does break, then it'll be easier to fix.

Well, I will keep you posted on the gourd-making front and hopefully I'll upload some pics on deviantart (I'll prob link it)

Ouran High School Host Club

Oh my GOODNESS! I started watching Ouran High School Host Club about a week or two ago and I couldn't help but fall in love with it. The music is so sad but also so good! I want it as my ringtone! I'm kidding, but I do like the music.

It annoying, actually, I watched the first disc of vol. 1 and I wanted to watch the second disc but denyed myself it until i had done all my uni assignments... it didn't work. I ended up wathing it instead of doing my essay >.< but I got te essay done so no harm done... really... Anyway, I've now got the seond volume and have watched the entire thing and you know what? I still love it! I just wish there was more... Ah, well.

Anyway, I better go; I've got an xmas party to get ready for... yay(?) Sorry this post is so short but thanks for reading guys!

Naruto Manga and next May's London Expo!

Ok. I'm now on vol 37 of the Naruto manga but I can't read any more because my friend has bought me the next three volumes for Christmas so I must wait it out until then ;.;

On another note, I have already decided who I'm cosplaying as at the next London MCM Expo (which isn't until may 2010!) I am going as my current favourite character.... *drum roll*... Gaara! ... Yeah, I know not really much of a suprise really is it? but I've got the costume custom made and it's so cool! also, I have a gourd bag as well as the headband so all I need are the shoes and then I'm good to go!

And this (next?) year, me and my friend Saz won't be going alone! Oh, no! I have made a private group on FaceBook where there are at least six of us who are going (who everyone else is going as has yet to be decided) but with a bit (read: tone) of luck, we will all be going for the entire weekend and maybe longer, depending on who can afford to do what ^^

Well, I'm all excited now, I just wish the expo was closer. Anyway, I better get going as I have work later today (I really hate my boss) Have a nice day everyone and I'll try and update soon!

Naruto Shippuden

Hey, I am happy to say that I am now on vol 33 of the Naruto manga. And oh my gosh, the first arc is so awesome. In fact, the whole thing is awesome but I just loved the Gaara-ness of it; so cool!

Anyway, that's not all I have to say; I also know that Shippuden is being dubbed (I have only see the first four episodes on DubHappy.com) but hopefully there should be more soon ^^

You know, I've got up to 7:1 of the anime but I know that the rest of the episodes are purely filler so I'm not going to bother buying the rest. However, I may stream them just so I can watch the Gaara fillers at the end (Yea, I've already watched some).

On another note (that's not entirely unrelated to Naruto); I'm doing Media Production at uni and we are arranging to get hoodies (black not pink, Bleh!), complete with nicknames ^^ However, I have no nickname ;.; so, I chose my fav. character... yep, you guessed it, Gaara! So now, when I get my hoodie, it'll have Gaara written on the back. I know that no one else will get it but I like it so there!

Um... not sure what else to say so I guess I'll leave it at that. ^^ Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll update soon.

I'm still here!

Oh my gosh you won't believe what kind of month I've just had! First, I take ten days off work to go volunteering for the Cambridge Film Festival only to be told that I start uni the next week (this was at the start of September by the by) anywho, so I start emailing my lecturers and such and I find out that I'll be at uni on the first three days of fest. So I email more lecturers to see what I can do about this as I had already booked both train and lodgings for the entire festival. So, I email more and eventually I find out that the uni's Fresher's week (conveniently) coincided with most of the festival which means I have to email the festival people to let them know when I'll be available, it also means I had to call my BnB and tell them that I'd be coming up to them three days later *sigh* so after a lot of hassle I eventually get it all sorted (whilst starting my second year at uni with a LOAD of assignments) and just when I thought things were finally going smoothly... I'm told I'll be without Internet for the duration of the festival... NOOOOOOOOOOOO! was pretty much my reaction. yeah, i wasn't happy.

Anyway, So I got to the festival and I volunteer everyday surviving on nothing more than cheese toasties (which were brilliant), hot chocolates (which were even more brilliant), cup-a-soups and instant noodles. Imagine my joy when I came home Monday and my mother made me a fried egg sandwich.

Phew, well that was a lot to say in one breath so I think I'm gonna go a lie down now... actually YouTube sounds better.

Naruto series 7

Ok, I don't know dates just yet but I have got wind of series 7 of Naruto becoming available very soon here in the UK from HMV.

On another note, has anyone heard/read the anime/manga magazine called Otaku? I think it's from the USA.

Sorry! (and When they Cry)

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a little while but I've just finished my 1250 word essay that was due for re-assessment next Monday. However, as I'm going to be busy until Wednesday, it had to be done for today but now that it is done, I can relax a bit more and update here a bit more too.

Anyway! today's update is (drum roll) ... When They Cry! Yes, I have become morbidly obsessed with this anime. I first saw/heard of it when I was on Youtube watching some Naruto vids and I found one (that I haven't been able to find since) that had both Naruto and When they Cry. So, me being me, decided to check it out on absoluteanime.com and sure enough that got me hooked. So now I own the first volume and i can't wait to get the second because its left me with an evil cliffy with the first episode of the second chapter! However *sigh* I'm lacking in money so I can't get it yet :( oh well...

So anyway, When They Cry (for those who don't know) is about a boy who has recently moved to the remote village of Hinamizawa where he meets and becomes quick friends with a group of four girls. Now, although everything may appear all happy-chappy with this little set up, it's not.

On the night of the Cotton-drifting festival, after everyone is done having fun and... drifting their cotton, a man has died after having clawed out his own throat whilst the woman he was seen with has gone missing. Creepy, no?

So, anyway, the boy gets pulled into (I'm going to tell you how or why; that's cheating) and slowly begins the long and spiraling path downward into madness until the end of the first chapter where things start all over again. fun, huh?

well, anyway, so that's this... periods update. (*bows* sorry I'm not more regular ;_; ) take care and if anyone knows of anymore interesting anime or they just want to say something (anything will do) then feel free! 'til next time!

General Update...

... Wow, it sure has been a while since I last updated, sorry about that *grin*. Unfortunatly, there isn't much to update on as i haven't gotten any rurther with Naruto nor any of anime really. Althou, saying that, I have just finished reading the tenth volume of the Naruto manga and you know what? There really isn't much in the way of change from manga to anime except for a few filler bits.

Also, I've reading another manga called Vampire Knight, anyone else read/watch it? I've got up to volume 6 so far as that's all that's available in the UK (we're abit slow when it comes to anime/manga update... and movies... and books... and just about every other type of media out there...)

On another note, I've started reading Fruits Basket again. I've got to volume 21 and due to the aforementioned reason/excuse/whatever about UK updates, I haven't been able to go any further! So, I've stared again :)

Well, that's about it for now, but before I go, a quick question; is anyone else into Death Note?

Naruto update!

Hey!

Still on naruto and I've just finished series 6. It's so good! I can't wait for series 7 but I'm not sure if it's out yet. Also, I seem to have developed a liking for Neji. Not that I didn't like him before, it's just since his fight again one of the sound four, he's become more of a likable character for me. Another thing I liked was when they went to the curry shop in series 6 and tried the "curry of life". That was a great play with all the characters. Neji and Tenten's short interaction was so funny I actually rewound and watched it again. I know but I was bored and I needed a laugh.

Well, that's todays update. unfortunatly it is a short one... a very short one... but it's all I can do at the mo. Thanks for reading!

Naruto movie 1

Hey!

Ok I know I've already mentioned Naruto: Stone of Galel but know i'm going to mention the first Naruto movie. I watched it with a friend of mine (the same one who coplayed as Ed last Expo) and it was so cool! Ed is now making her way through the second series of Naruto and I've just lent her the third series. Anyway! back to the movie. It was so cool! very good plot but again, a lack of Gaara (but that's just me; huge Gaara fan) sorry, getting back on subject. The movie was very good. The plot was great and the music was a brilliant as ever. The small but very effective twists and turns in the story line are great and they make it all the more interesting. So, if you havn't seen it yet, you really really should.

On another note, I've just finished series five and am about to move onto series six. does anyone else want to ring Sasuke's neck round about now, or is it just me? I mean, come on!

well, I better get going. oh! but before I do, let me tell you that I've just finished editing the footage I got from the Expo. (I know, I'm stupidly late) Also, I'm half-way through uploading it onto youtube as we speak so if any of you want to check it out feel free. Naruto! ... again

Hiya!

My sister came to stay last week so I havn't been able to write :( However! we were being constructive (sort of) I have know infected my sister with the naruto bug! She likes it too and that is what wev'e been doing most of theis past week :D

*sigh* but know she is gone back to Lincoln and I don't have anyone to watch naruto with... except my friend, Saz Hehe. yeah, she's infected too :D

Well, anyway, I've got upto series four so far and I'm just waiting on series 5 from my aunt (she got it for me for my birthday but it was pre-ordered so it won't come for a little while) I can't wait! I want to know what happends next! poor Gaara though; you gotta love him, or at least I do :)

Another thing that was keeping me away from the net (and from helping my sis catch up with me (she only got half-way through series 2)) was work! I'm in retail (unfortunatly) and the place I work has air-con but it doesn't work and because of the current heat-wave we've been having over the last few weeks, I nearly melted! Not to mention that they give us NILON shirts as our uniform.

*sigh* You see, my boss hates me, my collegues and even the other mangers. She has no people skills and my father has given her a rather interesting nickname which I won't repeat here. Let's just say, she has a superiority complex and really bad attitude problem.

... sorry, once I get going about work, I seems to trail off the subject. But! I am now back on subject because I have just remembered that i have one of the Naruto movies; Legend of the Stone of Gelel. It's a very interesting movie and my sister likes it so I guess that's something. However, I was slightly disappointed with the lack of Gaara apart from his (approx.) 5 mins of screen time. But oh well, *shrugs* it can't be helped. What can i say? I'm a huge fan of Gaara.

So, that's my little rant/review/update for today. I'm sorry about the bit about work but it was relevant (kinda). anywho, I'll let you fine people go but I would still love to hear from some of you, what you think of some of the anime I've mentioned so far, if you've seen them, want to see them, what you thought of them <-- that kind of thing. :)

ghost in the Shell - 2 (May contain spoilers early episodes)

Hey!

I know my last post on Ghost In The Shell was short but I'm pleased to say i have now finished watching both vols 1 and 2 that I borrowed and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every episode.

The plots of each episode get more intersting and more complaex as they go and the overlaying of the possible return of the Laughing Man was great! I can't wait to watch more!

Another thing i love about this epic anime? The music. Gosh, the music! It's unbelievable. I mean I'm no musician and by no means an expert on the subject but I know good music when I hear it and the opening track for the vols 1 and 2 is a beautiful peice of music. I believe there is also another track called Rise by someone called Origa (?). I belive it's in Russian and I have heard it many a time. Again, beautiful peice.

I do love to listen to anime soundtracks so if anyone can recomend any good anime opening/closing themes then I'll be glad to hear from you.

Ghost in the Shell

Hey again!

Just thought I'd mention that I'm borrowing some anime from one of my uni friends and at first I didn't think I was going to enjoy them but actually, they're both really interesting.

The first one is Cowboy BeBop. Not so such if I like that much but it seems pretty cool. The second is Ghost in the Shell: SAC which I still havn't finished watching yet. I really like it. It's really interesting too. I think it might be a good idea to watch the movie again... yea...

On another quick note, it is my 21st Birthday today so that's why this post is so short. but anyway, I'll update soon. (probably more on SAC)

FMA: Brotherhood

Hey again!

Just had a thought; what does anyone think of the new Fullmetal Alchemist series, Brotherhood? I've only been able to watch the first episode in subs but it looks kinda cool. I'm not sure what it's time line is but apparently it's not a re-make as such, it's just following the story of the manga more closely. That's because when they started the first FMA anime, the manga only had a few volumes out and, as I'm sure most of you already know, manga is only published a little at a time in Shonen Jump and the like, and so when the anime was broadcast it was going out so fast that it over took the manga, thus making the two follow different story lines. (<- wow that was a long sentence)

anyway, so if anyone elso has seen it, what do you think of it? I think it's meant to be released online in July but I'm not sure yet.

Oops. I haven't updated for a little while, sorry!

Well, anyway, I have some good news (courtesy of neo magazine); we still hold the world record for most cosplayers in one place! That place being last mays London MCM Expo! Yay!

Also, for those of you who missed them, we had some stars at the expo including Craig Charles from Red Dwarf (who my sister's boyfriend got to meet, talk to and get an autograph of)

Oh! Another quick note before I leave, I think I'm getting drawn into Ouran High School Host Club's aura of cuteness! Does anyone else know/like this anime? Is it worth watching?

Naruto!

Hey!

Recently I've gotten interested in the anime Naruto. It caught my interests ages ago but I never bought the manga nor the anime. but know, my curiosity has taken hold and is not letting go. I've currently got the first four series of the anime and I can't wait to get my paws on the next series. (My birthdays comming up so fingers crossed)

I have to admit, I first got into Naruto because it looked interesting and I wanted to know what happened but, like I said, I resisted the temptation (mostly due to a lack of funds) but this time I have a character from Naruto Shippuden to thank for my renewed fasination; Deidara. Yes, Deidara; the blonde haired Akatsuki member whom I'm not even supposed to know about yet (but i do thanks to the internet) To be honest, I don't actually remeber why or how he caught my interest he just did and then I found out he was from naruto and I wanted to now more. Hence, my current obsession.

Dragon Heir

Hello again!

I forgot to mention something very important that I got from the Expo last sunday; it's a new manga and it's written by a UK author. Her name is Emma Uieceli and the manga is called Dragon Heir.

I only bought the first volume but it's really good so far; it's about a boy called Protus who is one of four Dragon heirs. He must gather the other three heirs and take them to the location of 'Spiratu's Ritual of Transendence' where the four heirs will be releaved of their Dragon spirits and allowed to live mortal lives. The only thing standing in their way is the second set of dragon heirs.

It's from Sweatdrop Studios and reads in the traditional western format, left to right.

London Expo May 09!

Oh my gosh! This last expo was SO cool!

I got to see so many awesome costumes and there was so much I wanted to buy but due to a lack of money, I didn't. However, i did get a plushie of Deidara from Naruto for £15 (it's a big one), three D.gray Man posters and an Akatsuki cloak for £45 (from the TokyoToys stall; website http://www.tokyotoys.com/).

All very cool and I'm really glad I got them. I love my plushies and my posters are so cool; unfortunatley, by room is so small I have yet to find room to put them up but I will eventually, hehe.

Anyway, I think the best part of the Expo wasn't the plushies or the posters but the people; it's the experience and the people you meet there. If any of you haven't ever been to an Expo... where have you been?! it's the UK's largest anime/manga/games convention! you really need to get yourselves there in october even if you don't buy anything there or just go there for one day it's still well worth the experience. To anyone who was there this May, if you saw an Envy walking around with an Edward Elric (from FMA) and a Bakura (from YuGiOh) then that was me, my friend and my sister. Her boyfriend was there as an "Unenthusiastic Otaku"; he didn't have a costume so we made him wear my Kyo cat hat ;)

Hello, Anime fans!

Hello, everyone. In case you hadn't noticed, I really like Anime and Manga. My favourite is called Inuyasha. I don't watch the Anime but instead read the Manga. I got into it a bout four or five years ago and I find it really interesting (not to mention quite funny) to read, especially when you're going on a long journey. Also, it's fun to watch peoples faces as they become completely confused when they ask you what it's about but that's probably just my evil little mind talking.

Anyway! Inuyasha is not the only Manga that I read. I also read Immortal Rain and only recently, I've got into both the Anime and Manga of Fullmetal Alchemist. I love both of these stories because even though they still hold the same humour as Inuyasha (and other Manga series) they also have a very serous side to them that seems to draw you in and you just want to know more!

Does anyone else like these?
